What weight set is right for me?

Find the right weight set for you:

Step 1: Locate one of the following:

  • Gallon of milk/water
  • 150oz jug full of laundry detergent
  • 12.5” cast iron skillet
  • About 9 lbs of books into a bag

Step 2: Stand with the jug (or other items) in one hand with your arm extended down near your hips and your palms facing forward. Shoulders and elbows should be pinned to your sides.

Step 3: Without moving upper arms, bend elbow to bring jug up to shoulder level, then lower to starting position.

Step 4: Continue this for 8 to 12 reps with good form (with elbows pinned to sides and shoulders relaxed), raising arms for a slow count of two and lowering them for a slow count of two.

Step 5: Repeat with other hand.

If your bicep muscles fatigue and you have to stop or you can’t maintain form before reaching 8 reps, you should purchase the light set of weights.

If you are able to complete 8 reps but struggle from 8-12, choose the medium set.

If you complete 12 reps without any discomfort at all, you should choose the heavy set.
